Kit includes
- 2 1/2 yards linen fabric, 54 inches wide
- European linen thread for hand sewing
- 3 thread buttons
- Beeswax and needle packet
Some thread and buttons may vary in kits depending on what we have available for supplies. The Larkin & Smith 18th Century Shirt Manual is available here.
*Please note that current research shows us blue and white is the most common colorway seen for shirts in the 18th century. There are examples of red check fabrics from the period. An identical red and white check to this can be seen in a British fabric sample book at the MET. However, be advised it may not meet the guidelines for some living history groups or events. This check is a good option for those looking for high quality material for use in historical costuming, cosplay or historybounding.
