Refund policy

At the Sign of the Golden Scissors accepts returns or exchanges within a limited time-frame. We have a 5-day return policy, which means you have 5 days after receiving your item to request a return. There is a 10% restocking fee for returns of stock items. Shipping charges for returns or exchanges are the responsibility of the customer.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. Please include the receipt or proof of purchase.

Returns must be return-shipped within 5 days of initial delivery, based on tracking information sent with your order. Exchanges may be done within 10 days of the delivery

Exceptions / non-returnable items

Please note we do not accept returns on:

Cut Yardage - fabrics, ribbons, lace, etc. - are not eligible for returns or exchanges. Please reach out if you have questions about a product prior to purchase
Patterns that opened
Custom-made items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Vintage and Antique Items - All vintage and antique items are listed as is, no refunds or returns. Buyers should expect all vintage and antique items to have some wear. They may not be 100% free of minor defects, as they have been loved already. Any imperfections will be described to the best of my knowledge. Please feel free to message with any questions you may have prior to purchase.

To make a return:

Enclose a note telling us why you are making the return.
How you would like us to handle the transaction. We will exchange merchandise or refund the purchase price of the item minus a 10% restocking fee to your payment method.
Items should be packed securely and insured for your protection.
When you ship please email us with your tracking number so we can be on the lookout for it.
Please note we cannot refund shipping charges.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return questions.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. Shipping fees are not refundable.

Cancellation Policy for Workshops

Because of the nature and enrollment limitation of our workshops, we regret that we are unable to offer a full refund for a cancellation. If you cancel 15 or more days prior to the workshop, we will refund your fee less a $30 cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 15 days prior to the workshop, we will have to charge the full amount of the workshop unless we are able to fill your slot, (based on a waiting list) in that event you will be charged only the $30 cancellation fee. In the event of inclement, weather based on our local weather reports, we reserve the right to reschedule the workshop to a later date. Students will be notified via email of any changes ASAP.

In the event of the workshop being cancelled we are not responsible for any costs by the attendee for cancelled reservations or other travel costs.
