Antique Black Silk Bodice
A black silk 1890s to early 1900s bodice with wonder construction details. Lightly boned bodice with a cotton lining, closes with hooks and eyes down the front. Sleeves have pleats down the upper arm, fullness near wrists, a style common around 1903. Buttonholes on front and back of collar indicate that this was worn with some kind of detachable collar or jabot.
Overall in good condition for its age. Lining is still strong but soiled. Silk fabric in good condition but is starting to get a bit crisp near the ends of the sleeves. Wearable with care but best for study or displace.
Buyers should expect all vintage and antique items to have some wear. They may not be 100% free of minor defects, as they have been loved already. Any imperfections will be described to the best of my knowledge.
