WAVES Uniform
WAVES uniform (Women Excepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The jacket and skirt are named to the same woman. Name is hard to read but looks like Janet L. Kunke. Gold buttons put it post WWII (1946 to 1947 before unforms changed) but the label inside looks like late war production.
Marked size 16R. A vintage size 16 is approximately 34-28-37 The bust on this jacket fits more like a 36. Buttons on skirt look to have been moved to make waist smaller, plenty of room to move them if needed.
Overall in good condition for wear or display. Some photos are washed out but there is no fade or discoloration. One small hole on sleeve, mend in blue thread at one side of pocket that doesn't show when jacket is worn. Rate patch has been removed but there are thread marks so you can see where it was. Two buttons will need to be reattached. Hem has been let out all the way.
