The Larkin & Smith "The Profligate Punished" cap is once again available as a kit! Everything you need to make your own 18th century cap in a period correct manner. This kit uses a beautifully crisp Italian cotton organdy, the last of the old Golden Scissors stock.

These kits include the following;

  • Pre-cut fabric pieces (Caul, Wings, Lappets)
  • Threads
  • Needles
  • Linen tape for ties
  • Bees wax
  • Instructions
  • Documentation card
  • Two sizes of Pale Yellow Silk Ribbon

Suitable for the fourth quarter of the 18th century, this round eared cap style works well for a number of impressions from middling to upper class depending on materials used. This is a very flattering cap for most women. This cap is based on a painting by Edward Penny. “The Profligate Punished by Neglect” dated 1774. It is in the Yale Center for British Art, accession # B1981.25.500

This listing is for a cap kit, not a finished cap. Finished cap shown for display only.
