1930s/1940s Rayon Playsuit
Late 1930s/early 1940s ivory rayon playsuit by B. Altman & Co. Fifth Avenue, New York.
Gorgeous, classic vintage sports wear!
B. Altman and Company was a luxury department store and chain that was founded in 1865 in New York City, New York, by Benjamin Altman. I have had evening wear, lingerie, and sportswear in my collection from the 1920s to 1940s with this label. I adore this playsuit but it's time for someone else to enjoy it.
Playsuit buttons down the front with large MOP buttons, additional hooks and eyes at waist. The waist portion of the shorts zips at the front underneath the buttons with a metal Talon zipper. Single breast pocket.
Tiny pin hole under one arm and a part of the waist looks to have been re-stitched at some point. Wear consistent with its age. Clean and ready to wear, no other flaws to note.
