Gentleman/Officer Shirt Kit
This shirt is correct for the 3rd and 4th quarters of the 18th century and is especially suitable for military officer, middling and upper class impressions.
We have a limited number of shirt kits of Vintage 36 inch wide white linen. This fabric will allow the use of the selvedge edges for the most accurate shirt possible. 3 3/4 yards of this fabric are provided in each kit.
The Medium Weight White Linen is the best modern linen we have ever found that comes close to an 18th century weight, hand and appearance. It is evenly woven with no slubs and a medium weight.
The Summer Weight is lighter for the summer heat, evenly woven and available in white and creamy white.
Each kit has 3 yards of linen, European linen thread, and our Manual for the 18th Century Shirtmaker.
Sleeve buttons and buckles are an essential component of the 18th century shirt and we are pleased to present sleeve buttons from Ward Oles, At the Eastern Door.
For the finishing touch, white organdy or linen cambric for sleeve ruffles and frills are also available.
