18th Century Stomacher Front Gown

 

In this workshop you will learn to construct an English stomacher front gown in the period manner.  The en fourreau back is one of the most popular styles of gown during the 18th century.  Bodice lining is included.  At the end of the workshop each individual will have a personalized pattern for re use and their gown 80-90% finished.  Home work is required.  Pre approval of fabric is necessary.  Stays are required. 

 

We will travel to your location.  A minimum of 8 is required for a gown workshop. This is a two day workshop.  

Fee is 135.00 per person

 

18th Century Closed Front Gown

In this workshop we will be making a gown popular during the late 1770s and early 1780s, the closed front.  Meeting edge to edge at the center front and often worn with a bum roll this gown also has an en fourreau back.  Bodice lining is included.

18th Century Stays

 

 

The most necessary item for any 18th century costumer or reenactor.  This workshop will teach staymaking in a period manner.  Each individual will have a perssonalized fitting and pattern. All materials are included.   Several styles are available and all are directly from original 18th century stays.  A minimum of 8 are required. 

 We will travel to your location.  A minimum of 8 is required for a stays workshop. This is a two day workshop. 

 

Fee is 175.00 per person, all materials included.

 

18th Century Bed Gown

This English bedgown is based on an original garment in the collection of the Manchester City Galleries.  You will be constructing this bedgown by hand using period techniques.  All materials are included. The bedgown is fully lined.

 

 We will travel to your location.  A minimum of 8 is required for a bedgown workshop. This is a one day workshop.  

 

The fee is 125.00 -145.00 depending on the fabric chosen by the individual. 

 

18th Century Accessories, Mitts, Hats, Bonnets

Each accessory workshop is a half day workshop and the fee is 35.00 per person, plus a material fee.  Workshops can be combined to make a one day program.

 

18th Century Riding Habits

 

Make a riding habit using 18th century tailoring techniques.  This workshop is held over two days separated by two weeks.  There is homework that needs to be done between each class. Pre approval of fabric is required.  

 

 We will travel to your location.  A minimum of 8 is required for a bedgown workshop. This is a one day workshop.  

 

The fee is 175.00.  A minimum of 6 and a maximum of 7 is required. 

 

Mannequin Making

18th century sewing and fitting requires a body double that is you.  This workshop will create the body double for you.  One hour is required and no minimum is necessary at our location.  

 

A minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 at your location.  

 

The fee is 175.00 for small and medium sizes and 195.00 for large.
