"The Pretty Maid" cap is suitable for the lower sorts for a long portion of the 18th century.  This style cap is also seen on 'mature' women in the upper middle classes in the 1770s who prefer an older style of cap. This is a very flattering cap for most women as it frames the face. The lappets may left down or tied with a ribbon under the chin. Paper paper and instructions for hand sewing a cap in an 18th century manner are included along with a documentation card.

Can be made of light weight to fine linen with a finer linen or period appropriate lace used for the ruffle. 1 1/8 yards of 1 1/2" silk ribbon suggested for trim. Message us for a selection of ribbons.
